The President shall be Chief Executive Officer of the Section.  The President shall have general direction of the affairs of the Section; preside at all general membership meetings and meetings of the Executive Committee; call special meetings; and perform such other duties as set forth herein or outlined in the NCNW Handbook/Robert's Rules of Order (Newly Revised).  The President shall be an ex officio member, participating without a vote, of all Committees except the Nominating Committee.  The President shall enforce the Bylaws and see that all orders and resolutions of the Executive Committee are carried out.  The President shall appoint the Parliamentarian, Chaplain and Historian; make appointments  to fill unexpected vacancies, with approval of the Executive Committee; and appoint chairpersons of standing and special committees whose chairperson(s) are not provided for in the Bylaws.

The Vice Presidents shall preside in the absence of the President in the sequence in which they appear in this document.  In so doing, they shall perform the duties and exercise the powers of the President.  The Vice Presidents shall perform any other duties as may be assigned by the Executive Committee.

(a)  The First Vice President - Programs

The First Vice President shall oversee and establish any program committees and be willing to undertake any special programming efforts that are requested by the President; recruit volunteers for the required three (3) service programs as mandated in the Section Charter; keep the President and other officers informed of volunteer status and program development; and prepare a written report for the annual meeting.

(b) The Second Vice President - Membership

The Second Vice President shall recruit persons for membership in the Section, and process their applications; establish and oversee the Membership Committee; prepare an annual directory of current members; send applications to prospective members; keep the President and other officers informed of new members; keep an accurate quarterly record of membership related information with the National office; keep an annual record of membership; and prepare a written report for the annual meeting.

The Recording Secretary shall keep the minutes and attendance records of all general membership meetings and Executive Committee meetings.  The Recording Secretary shall be in charge of the records of the Section other than financial records kept by the Treasurer and Financial Secretary.  The Recording Secretary shall perform the duties of the Corresponding Secretary in the absence of the Corresponding Secretary and Assistant Recording Secretary.  The Recording Secretary shall perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Executive Committee.

The Assistant Recording Secretary.

The Assistant Recording Secretary shall assist the Recording Secretary.  In the absence of either the Recording Secretary or the Corresponding Secretary, the Assistant Recording Secretary shall assume those responsibilities.

The Corresponding Secretary shall give notice of all general membership meetings and all meetings of the Executive Committee; shall conduct correspondence of the organization; and perform such duties as may be assigned by the Executive Committee.  The Corresponding Secretary shall perform duties of Recording Secretary in absence of Recording Secretary and Assistant Recording Secretary.

The Treasurer shall be the Chief Financial Officer of the Section and shall have custody of all funds and securities of the Section.  The Treasurer shall receive from the Financial Secretary copies of all receipts and financial records.  The Treasurer shall pay bills and make other disbursements when approved by the President, Executive Committee, or committee chairs, and when properly verified by the person incurring the indebtedness.  Disbursements shall be made in accordance with the approved budget as authorized by the Executive Committee and voted on by the general membership.  Such disbursements shall be made by check and countersigned by the President.  The decision regarding the bank selection shall be made in a manner consistent with the goals of the organization.

The Treasurer shall present  a (verbal) financial statement at every general membership meeting and at other times when requested by the Executive Committee, and shall make a full written report to the Executive Committee quarterly.  The Treasurer shall chair the Finance Committee and shall be responsible for the maintenance of such books of account and records as conform to the requirements of the Bylaws.   The Treasurer shall be bonded at the expense of the Section.  The Treasurer shall present all records to the Auditor for review.

The Financial Secretary shall deposit in such bank or banks as the Executive Committee may determine all monies received by the Section.  The Financial Secretary shall give a summary of receipts immediately  to the Treasurer, and shall keep a record of all monies belonging to the Section.  The Financial Secretary shall present  a (verbal) financial statement at every general membership meeting and at other times when requested by the Executive Committee, and shall make a full written report to the Executive Committee quarterly.  The Financial Secretary shall perform such duties as necessary  to support the work of the Treasurer.

The Historian shall compile a compete History of the Greater Boston Section of the NCNW, supplemented by copies of printed material published by NCNW.  The Historian shall record the Section's work and accomplishments and its participation in activities related to its interests, and shall be responsible for the preservation of this material by the best methods available.

 The Parliamentarian shall interpret to the presiding officer and the membership at general membership meetings and meetings of the Executive Committee the rules governing the transaction of the business of the Section.

 The Chaplain shall draw upon the religious resources to enhance creative relationships and meaning in the work of the Section with respect to all denominations.
